This study is an experiment in painting the city in the evening. Like a few of my recent works, I consider this one unsuccessful. I'm trying to learn how to make my paintings more careful and clean, while at the same time working more freely and boldly.

In this painting, I depicted a sunset that I often see in the evening over Valencia from my neighborhood. I tried to capture the atmosphere of the last few minutes of the day, but I'm not sure it turned out the way I had planned.
